Challenge: Make the Top 10 pop song artists from 20 years ago all on the Top 40 today

Your challenge, with a POD of 25 years ago, is to have all all pop artists who had songs in the Top 10 on March 8. 2004, continue their careers to the point where they all appear in the Top 40 today. The other 30 songs can be other artists.

If an artist had more than one song in the list in 2004 he or she need only have one popular today to succeed in this challenge.

If some of the artists from the Top 10 have passed since 2004, go through the 2004 list and choose the 10 still living artists with the highest ranking songs from that list.

Note I have not checked the list for that day so I don't know who is on it.

It's probably an 'age thing' but only know of two of the ones on the list. Maybe the rest just weren't good enough to last!
