Charlemagne dies in 771 instead of Carloman

What happens if Charlemagne is the brother who does early and Carloman gets all Frankish territory?

Does Carloman build an empire like Charlemagne did OTL? Is there even a Holy Roman Empire?

It probably wouldn't conquer as much as Charlemagne (or he would conquer nothing at all) but it's unlikely this empire would collapse as fast as OTL without Louis the Pious, HRE probably doesn't form then.

It would also affect the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in England, due to Ecgberht of Wessex having sought refuge in Charlemagne's court in the 780s.
