Rosalind Franklin lives to 90

Rosalind Franklin was a prominent scientist and did most of the research in tbe discovery of DNA. Science was her main passion and refused to have kids so she could work on it.

She was going all in on scientific research but contracted ovarian cancer and died age 37.

Suppose she survives and reaches 90, dying in 2010. What would she have studied and discovered, and how would she been remembered and recognized today?

Wouldn't the POD have to be the knowledge that radiation exposure raises cancer risk? Surely knowing that early would change the direction of genetic research?

Science is almost a young person’s game, isn’t it? Plus, you’re asking for a 2nd major discover.

Maybe a few people have had 2 big discoveries, with one of them coming after age 37, but not that many people.

Yeah, pretty few scientists are known from two massive scientic finding. And most of 20th century these things have been ratherly either cooperation of bigger teams or continuing works of previous scientists. So if Franklin manages to live at age of 90 (and on that point she has retired already long time ago) she probably won't make another big finding. And remember that science world was yet on that time pretty male dominant. Women had difficult get much attention. How many female scientists before 2000's you can even name?

Or if you do make multiple major discoveries your name might only be associated with one of them. Barbara McClintock discovered a lot more about basic genetics than transposons, but transposons are all most people associate with her, if they know of her at all.
