Surviving Karamanli Dynasty

From 1711 to 1832, the Karamanli dynasty ruled the Ottoman province of Tripolitania. Is it possible for the dynasty to avoid being overthrown in 1832 and survive? Could Tripolitania become like Tunisia or Egypt; a protectorate of a European power with a hereditary monarchy?

I've wondered this before myself... seems strange that Egypt, Tunis, Algiers (before the French takeover) were all able to establish substantial autonomy, while Tripolitania was drawn back under more direct Ottoman control.
Will be interesting to see some other responses to this, as I'm contemplating a TL where Italy is never fully unified, so it's hard to have an Italian Libya with no Italy
