WI/AHC: Central America reunifies?

I blame having recently watched a Vicky 2 video on youtube and being reminded that they existed...

This is both a challenge, and a sort of general what if for the idea of Central America reuniting to recreate the Federal Provinces of Central America, or the USCA. Is there a viable path for doing so, and if it did happen what would be the impact of such? Would it improve things for the various peoples of Central America, or just combine all the problems into one basket?

The only problem with a United States of Central America would be the other US. The USA might not be amiable towards this idea - divided nations is good for the "divide and conquer mentality."

Well what Kaze said, keep the U.S. from getting too powerful. There was an attempt in the 1890s to make it happen, which fell after a coup of Salvadorans who thought that a United Central America was a security risk to them or some shit like that. Keep them from doing their coup, maybe get them to have a Nicaraguan Canal through their land for finances, and most of all, stop American meddling.
