WI: Hitler assassinated in November 1939

On November 8th, 1939, Hitler gave a speech at the Burgerbraukeller in Munich to commemorate the Beer Hall Putsch. However, a bomb was planted at the venue by one Georg Elser, a 38-year-old anti-Nazi cabinet maker with communist sympathies, in an attempt to take Hitler out. In real life, as chance would have it, Hitler cut his speech short out of concern for bad weather so that he could take an earlier flight back to Berlin, avoiding being killed by the bomb.

Let's say that Adolf decides to go through with his speech in its entirety, and at 9:20 PM, the bomb goes off, killing the Fuhrer in the explosion. And what a time it is for this to happen: World War II is only two months old, Poland has just been conquered, and the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is still in effect.

So what happens from here? Who succeeds Hitler, what happens next in the war, and what do the Nazi government and the Allies do next?

The Nazi state collapses from its bureaucratic clusterfuck deliberately rigged to ensure Hitler held absolute power by being the only one who could make decisions having to sustain a war that it did not want against enemies it did not want to fight in alliance with the same state whose total destruction it held self-evidently positive.
